Do I need any canoe, rowing or punting experience?
No not at all, we will be happy to help you get on the river, even starting out with you if necessary,
What clothing will I need?
We recommend loose comfortable clothing and shoes which may get wet. Please do not wear wellington boots.
Is there a weight limit?
There is a size/weight limit for fitting of buoyancy aids and safe paddling. The personal limit is 20 stone, chest size 50″, maximum weight for all people in one boat is a total of 40 stone.
Can children go boating?
As long as a child can correctly fit into a buoyancy aid, we are happy for accompanied children to go boating. However, we do not allow very young children in canoes - but are happy to have them in the bomb-proof rowing boats and punts. All children must be accompanied by responsible adult(s).
Are dogs welcome?
We welcome well-behaved dogs as long as the boat weight limit is not exceeded. Never tie your dog to the boat. We do not provide or recommend dog buoyancy aids.
Where will I park?
There is usually ample parking in the National Trust car park - fees apply. However, this is not guaranteed.
Can I leave my bike or the baby's pushchair with you safely?
Yes, we can store items such as bikes and buggies.
Will I have fun?
Almost certainly.
Do we need to book?
It is recommended to guarantee your adventure - on sunny days there is no better place to be, but you may not be the only person to think of it.
What time do I need to arrive?
Please arrive about 15 minutes before your booked time . This will give time for buoyancy aids fitting, safety briefing and general explanations.
Can I pay be credit card?
We can take payment by cash or by card.
